CGI Studio GmbH and Dimenco B.V. have partnered to bring the best-in-class human-machine interface (HMI) to the automotive industry. Integrating Dimenco’s Simulated Reality (SR) technology in CGI’s Incari HMI Development Platform combines the state of the art in hardware and software to enhance the visual experience in in-car display clusters and create a user-centric solution designed to deliver immersive human-vehicle interactivity without wearables.

Compared to conventional in-car display clusters the new SR-enhanced Incari HMI development platform enables developers to turn data into realistic 3D graphics while creating a 4D HMI solution without the need for a headset. This approach will pave the way for the real-time presentation of context information in three dimensions, crucially including the perception of depth. Recently developers had been increasingly looking for context-driven solutions, not only facilitating their working processes but more importantly improving the driver’s experience.

The methods for creating 3D HMI solutions had been highly complex and error-prone. Developers will now benefit from the SR-enhanced Incari platform which adds a true third dimension to design. This way we simplified the development process, improved design quality, and created the first reliable full 3D driver experience.

“Since we first experienced Dimenco’s SR technology, it’s been clear that they deliver a real value to the automotive industry,” says Alexander Grasse, CTO at CGI Studio GmbH. “By integrating the technology into the Incari HMI Development Platform, we give our customers access to new and advanced methods of HMI visualization. Together, we can help HMI designers and engineers leverage these new technologies for their upcoming HMI projects so that they get the best development experience from early design stages, up to series production.”

Leveraging a 3D design approach, Incari HMI Development Platform offers seamless support for SR output. The SR-enhanced development environment is currently undergoing the final stages of testing and will be available to customers soon.

“Simulated Reality from Dimenco enables a new generation of immersive in-car display experiences that combines outstanding spatial computing with fully natural human visualization – it’s a vision of the future that just about anyone can understand,” Erik van der Tol, CPO at Dimenco.
